The building of a modular house takes place in one of the leading factories in the country. The house is divided into "boxes." A home can consist of several boxes, depending on the layout. Each piece of the modular is shipped via truck directly from the factory to your building site. Here's a quick glimpse at the process from start to finish.

7:00AM: A typical set starts. Crane is being set-up, modular "Boxes"
lined up (background).
Foundation has been prepared in advance and is ready.

Second floor front box is being swung into position on top of bottom floor boxes.

Easy does it, the set crew has many years of experience... making this look
easy.

Setting the boxes into the exact position is critical.
All corners must be perfectly plumb and square.

11:00AM: The roof is being lifted by the crane.
Note half of the garage in foreground.

The roof is set, the gable end panels in place and the dormer is being completed--
all fits perfect.
Note the garage foundation and garage boxes ready to go next.

First half of garage with roof already up is being set into position.

As the garage is being set, the crew makes sure it comes into place on the foundation.

Ridge shingles on garage and house are being completed to assure a watertight
condition.
As daylight fades, the final shingles are fixed in place.
It's now 4:30pm.
As wrap for insulation is attached,
backfill and grading begins.
